The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease Institute and Neurological Institute announce a search for a health psychologist with specialization in a new model of care: Gastrointestinal Behavioral Medicine Medical Home. Cleveland Clinic is a World Class academic medical center and our Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is a national leader in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Our GI Medical Home model of care provides an integrated patient-centered population health approach to management and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders with a team including gastroenterologists, Nurse Practitioners, nurse coordinators, a psychologist, and a dietitian. Candidates would provide comprehensive evaluations and individual and group-based interventions for patients with a diagnosed disorder of the gastrointestinal system. Our department offers a rich multidisciplinary collaborative environment for research. Educational offerings may include the teaching of students, trainees and post-doctoral fellows in health psychology and other disciplines in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM; a branch of Case Western Reserve University). The successful applicant will be appointed to the CCLCM at a level commensurate with experience.

Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-accredited psychology program, completed an internship with experience in health psychology and have completed a postdoctoral fellowship with specialization. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is essential. Strong candidates will possess expertise in the provision of evidence-based treatments (such as CBT, MI, ACT, and biofeedback) for health-related depression, anxiety, and pain, as well as experience working with patients diagnosed with a chronic medical condition. Strong candidates should also have interest and experience supervising trainees in health psychology.

Rich and diverse cultural opportunities establish Cleveland as a vibrant and versatile metropolitan area with an excellent lifestyle. The Cleveland area boasts beautiful and affordable neighborhoods that provide an ideal place for families to live and work. A variety of indoor and outdoor activities, excellent school systems, vibrant arts scene, active civic groups and abundant shopping locations are just a few of the many qualities the city and surrounding suburbs have to offer.
